Sam Worthington Pays ‘The Debt,’ Prepares For 10 ‘Avatar’ Movies

FROM NEXTMOVIE: Sam Worthington was plucked from obscurity (he says he was living in his car) when he landed his first American film role ? that of a paraplegic marine in James Cameron’s groundbreaking 3-D epic, “Avatar.”

The 35-year-old Aussie has also played an empathic cyborg in “Terminator Salvation” and wore a mini-skirt (okay, a tunic) to play Perseus, the mortal son of Zeus, in the mythical money-maker “Clash of the Titans.”

Now that he’s gotten plenty of action, Worthington’s about to reveal his dramatic chops in “The Debt,” a thriller about a Mossad capture …

George Clooney Leaves Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Man From U.N.C.L.E.’

George Clooney would probably make for one kick-ass uncle, but sadly, he will no longer be the man from “U.N.C.L.E.”

The Oscar winning actor has long been attached to Steven Soderbergh’s adaptation of the 1960s spy drama, but Deadline reports that Clooney is now walking away from the project. It’s unclear exactly why he’s stepping aside, especially given the frequency with which Clooney and Soderbergh have teamed up in the past, but regardless of the reasons, Soderbergh is now left looking for a new “U.N.C.L.E.” ? or is he?

Chalk it up to serendipitous timing …

Josh Hartnett Fights To The Finish In ‘Bunraku’ Teaser

All Josh Hartnett needs is his fists to kick some serious butt in the newest teaser for “Bunraku.”

Who needs set-up for a movie when a minute-long video clip can just show Hartnett beating up on baddies left and right? Clearly his character, The Drifter, has some anger issues to deal with. “Bunraku” first premiered as an official selection during Midnight Madness at 2010′s Toronto International Film Festival, and is slated to hit theaters on September 30. Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and BeyoncĂ© onstage together; Gaga kicking off the show in drag backed by a legendary rock guitarist; Adele pitting a stripped-down stage show against the likes of surprise performers Jay-Z and Kanye West’s pyrotechnics; and legendary grunge trio Nirvana name-checked by Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Chris Brown like it was 1991.
